Lose your cards first. Burn the pile. Survive the blind endgame. The last player holding cards is the Cacahead.

Choose your table cards.

Deal nine cards. Keep three in hand, three face-up, and three face-down for the blind finish.

Play equal or higher.

Match cards, make clean runs, and use magic cards when the pile starts getting ugly.

Do not be last.

When your hand is gone, play the table. When the table is gone, flip blind and hope.

Magic cards

2 resets the pile. 9 makes the next player go lower. 10 burns everything underneath.

How it plays

Simple enough to teach quickly. Chaotic enough to shout about.

  1. Deal nine cards.Three face-down, three face-up, and three in your hand.
  2. Swap before the start.Choose which three cards stay in your hand and which three sit face-up.
  3. Lowest card starts.Take turns clockwise, playing a card equal to or higher than the pile.
  4. Pick up if you cannot play.If you cannot beat the pile, you take the whole pile into your hand.
  5. Use the magic cards.2 resets, 9 sends the next player lower, and 10 burns the pile out of the game.
  6. Finish blind.After your hand and face-up cards are gone, play face-down cards without looking.
  7. Find the Cacahead.The last player left with cards loses the round.
